American Bully

Powerful. Athletic. Strong. Perfect Companion

The American Bully is a newer breed, establishing the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC) in 2004 gave the breed recognition.  In 2013 the United Kennel Club (UKC) recognizes the breed, then in 2015 by the American Dog Breeders Association (ADBA). You can click the buttons below for the official breed standards for each.  Today there are several more registries that recognize the breed as well.

The American Bully consists of 4 varieties, separated by height and/or mass.   The "pocket" being the smallest, standing 14" and under 17" at the withers.  The next class is "classic" standing 17" to under 20" tall at the withers with a lighter frame or less overall mass.  The "standard class is the same height but carries more mass and extreme features.  Then the largest class is the XL (all of our dogs), standing 20" to 23" tall at the withers.

The 'Extreme' class is no longer a variety

The breed was originally designed to be a larger, more heavily built Pit Bull with more extreme features.  It has a heavily influence in the breed, but later other breeds like Bulldogs and Mastiffs were also added in.  But now they have become an official breed, with a set standard as a companion breed.  Today they make the best family dog, playful, intelligent, love to please, and loyal.  Active enough to compete in sports, but chill at home to sleep in with you!

They need mental and physical stimulation daily.  Unfortunately they also fall under BSL (Breed Specific Legislation), which can make it difficult in your daily life.  Just know your local laws before considering the breed.  Many people will fear your dog, the media puts fear mongering out, and there is so much misinformation out there as well.  That mean's we must do our best to educate the public as much as we can about this amazing breed!

Last, this is a breed that is not meant for everyone.  They are already held under a microscope to the public, and we cannot set them up to fail as prejudice will happen always.  These are strong powerful dogs, especially the XL's.  Many can be quite active and a handful, know your limit.
